I was a guest designer for Technique Junkies!!!!

I was very honored when Pat asked me to be a guest designer for the 2008 October-November issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter. I was given an assignment and these are the cards I made. I used the Camouflage Technique for the first two. I used stamps from Paper Inspirations, and from The Stampin Place.
The next card uses the Geometric Overlay technique. This was a fun card to make as I adore working with acetate. The focal stamp is from Rubber Stampede.
The next two photos show the Gift Card technique. I can see myself making many of these for Christmas gifts this year. The verse inside is from After Midnight Art Stamps.

End result of a monsoon storm

The monsoon season is almost over here in Arizona. I enjoy the rain it brings but could do without the wind. The wind stirs up all the desert dust as you can see in the photo. You can barely see the mountains for the dust, but oh! what a heavenly double rainbow was left behind for me to enjoy. I hope you enjoy it too.

A Rose is a Rose is a Rose

I used the same techniques for this card as I did for the rooster. Stamp is an oldie but a goodie from Rubber Stampede.

Something to Crow About

I finally took a break from painting the laundry room and master bath to try a new technique from the 2008 October-November issue of Technique Junkies newsletter. The technique is called Twisted Edge,it is part of the Ribbon Extravaganza series. I also used a technique from the 2008 June newsletter called Marker Water Coloring. I so enjoyed making this card as I always find painting and coloring so relaxing. The image is from Stamps Happen. It is named Le Chanticleer. I picked it up on eBay for a song and love it.

Here is my page in the Angelic Sknny book. The front was painted on canvas with acrylics and covered with a light layer of glitter paint. The first time I have ever painted anything free hand. The back is an actual photo of me when I was about 6 years old. I definately didn't have the wings, LOL!

Back to ART!!!

While I was in Australia I joined yet another group; Chunky Book Artists. I am not and have never pretended to be a mixed media artist as I am a rubber stamper at heart, but it is good to step outside your comfort zone (I am told.)The first book I participated in was a skinny book. The pages are 3 1/2 by 8 inches long and the theme for this book is Angelic. I was so thrilled to receive my pages and was in awe of the work that was done. I have not yet made the cover for my book or bound it. A photo will come of that one of these days. So for now, enjoy the pages in the slide show!
